We were approched, via email, by the owners of this local estate agency business who said we had been recommended by another of our clients. They were after a simple design, slightly different from the 'normal' image estate agents project, to coincide with their different 'homely' approach they have at their shop. After showing them a demo site, they decided to buy a ready made script which we then made a design around. They already had a website, but were very ungappy with the slowness of adding properties and ultimately, they felt it was not utilising their webspace effiecently to gain new clients and advertise their properties properly.

We made several visits in person to the companies location, to make sure the design was just right for them, to listen to what was needed and not needed and to be changed from their old site, and to show them how to use their new site.

Quote from before40.co.uk:

'I was thinking that the www.before40.co.uk site needed some kind of logo to help give it 'modern' twist, & so set myself the mission of finding a logo company able to meet my strict criteria & demanding nature. After a day of browsing round 'the net' I came accross the site of a Web designer called Samantha from www.designasite.biz - I liked their philosophy of "A design service is based on the KISS (Keep It Stupidly Simple) principle" Anyhow a few email exchanges later and the first design was through & had an immediate impact on me. A few 'tweaks' later & we had the final design, as seen now on the site & on the top of this blog. Sam's idea behind the logo can be explained thus: "The Sideways '40' is basically to represent 'unconventional', & also acts as a 'stop' (i.e. stops the word before). This is to tie in with doing things before forty. The arrow has a few wiggles (or 'humps' or 'hills') to graphically represent over the hill which you may be considered at forty, especially if you are trying to do some impossible things before that. Also being an arrow, represent moving forward and not being hindered by age, hence why it points away from the number 40". Genius. & so the Before40 logo was born......'

I was asked by my husband, Les Savine, the owner of GutterandStars, to create two new header images to replace the ones that came with the Wordpress template he was using for his blog. The inspiration was the words Gutter and Stars, so took a picture of the gutter, turned it into a negative and colourised to match the templates own colours. The stars , I exploded, and again, colourised to match the template. The result is slightly surreal.

This hosting company has been around for many years and I have constantly updated the site to reflect current design trends, and to refresh the look. This latest look was requested by the owner, who wanted a classic, simple, clean and elegant approach. Staying with just three colours and using blacks and greys to emphasise the colours, this design fulfills the brief.
